DUET: DIDACTIVE 'THE HONEY OF MARRIAGE'
AJAKAYE:
Here you live in a home of a man,
your parents have agreed upon this meal,
you prepare for his stomach each time he wishes,
your legs unable to rest upon the bed
until he knocks he is home.
It is a beautiful one, a privilege in a prison,
where you decide the colour of the house
with the money of his sweat,
even between a conference call of your office,
you must unbotton his top
when he drives home from work with weak ribs.
A prison where you must be before late six,
a little young child of yours must be trained well
to resemble his father.
If spoilt, iya e lo fi jo.
Not a threat, it had been normal from start.
Trying to guide the children's academics
and know if his work is fruitful.
You fail one?
Your mother narrates your birth,
where you listen and heed all his words
but you continue to forgive him.
But why?
You are a woman,
women are strong,
when he woos you and you are in love,
you woo him till the rest of your life.
You become a pattern for his style,
this is the union of marriage.
ZENITH:
To the head of the house,
provide for thy home
so as to avoid being a tail.
You're the head,
she's the heart that supplies water and blood.
The head contains;
The nosrils,
The ability to smell evil and good days must lay within you,
The eyes,
You should be the vision carrier of your home,
The ears,
being updated about happenings within, outside thy vicinity.
The mouth,
you should be the voice for your home.
Love thy wife with all thy heart,
swipe off her tears when she's in destress.
The role of fatherhood
is not a child's play.
Abstain from palmwine evening friends,
only be drunken inlove with your wife.
Full the store room
and thy plate will be stockfull,
grease her with affections of purity.
Give her the best of all time,
labour for the future of thy kids,
make them queen and Kings
within thy province.
She's your wife not your housemaid,
they're your children not your slaves.
You're the head,
you carry all the responsibility of the home,
the bills and the likes.
Build your home on Christ,
truth and loyalty,
be faithful and diligent,
be upright and righteous,
and thy home will be full of peace,
and you shall live in harmony with thy wife.
