ODE ' THE RICH DO CRY '
Never believe that the rich have got all the happiness;
Everyone has a cloistered mound of sadness,
diddling in like an unwelcome host,
whom one has no choice than to give the highest post.
Money can’t make it go all away,
for the rich also have the pains that always stay.
No matter how rich the rich are,
we must dwell under the shade of truth that they also cry.
The rich do cry.
Worry not for another man's style,
Neither do you don't know his troubles
nor the worries that becloud his joy.
The rich are also clad in a blanket of sadness,
no matter what they possess,
they have burdens that break them down
and the saddest frown.
Both the rich and poor carry sadness,
sadness that stands regally, shooting out their weakness.
The money, cars, and houses
often put the rich in worries.
Rain of tears also fall on the rich man.
In his inner self, sadness is the master,
yet he masks it with an artificial laughter.
Sadness does visit the rich,
their baroque lifestyle often makes us
think they live in heaven.
No matter how hard they hide,
the rich do fall into the pothole of groans
And the ocean of woebegoneness.
We always say the poor suffers,
trust me, nothing else differs
because everyone’s got a thing in life,
a thing that cuts ghastlier than a knife.
SODIQ LAWAL.
This poem is to call equality among all humans. The great poet says the rich also have his struggles as the poor has. No man is absolutely satisfied.
