THE OLDEST TORTOISE LIVED 334 YEARS.

An ancient Tortoise called Alagba (meaning, elderly one) has all the attribute of a tortoise but she lived exceptionally in the palace of Ogbomosho, Osun State. According to history, Isan Okumoyede, who reigned from 1770 to 1797 (223 years ago),the third leader was the one who brought Alagba into the palace. He came across Alagba inside the forest when He was returning from a longtime journey. 
According to Ajamu (the personal aid to King Jimoh Oyewunmi), the tortoise was said to have had "healing powers" as many people who came in contact with the her were cured from their diseases. Naturally the average age of a normal tortoise is 100years. Many people argue about the age of the the tortoise.Yomi Agbato, a veterinary doctor told AFP "I seriously doubt if Alagba was 344 years old before she died " 
Alagba lived in the palace for centuries, She was so fortunate that she was loved by all the ruling king that rule during her live time. Many tourist across the world has came to visit this Alagba. "What an incredible creature "  during her life time over 18 kings rule the land of ogbomosho. Two personal were assigned to ensure that Alagba is well treated.
Alagba is very friendly, even the Soun of ogbomosho land (king of ogbomosho) do spend quality time with Alagba often times. Many people both young and old love to see Alagba. The presence of Alagba turned the palace to a tourism center,as many people from different region around the world come to visit Alagba. If she doesn't want visitors,she would hid her head beneath the shell.
Alagba eat all sort of fruits and food that are consumable by human( e.g Rice,Amala, pounded yam, vegetables etc) and drinks 4 liters of water every two weeks. Those that are in charge of Alagba said." If she's thirst,she usually goes to the palace entrance gate, without doubt anytime she's there it means she needs water'
Alagba became even more popular than the king because of the incredibility. When Alagba died many people mourn her death.
