DUET ON ROMANTICISM 'DISCOVERY OF AFFECTION' BY AJAKYE RASHIDAT AND RIDWAN HUMBLE
AJAKAYE:
A leaf might be married to a particular tree
but its colour loves all greeneries.
So is love, so is my heart,
I wish we were born again,
I might have chosen you.
HUMBLE:
A sky and land might be afar,
ice and hot water ajar,
albeit, your love in me, smiles
AJAKAYE:
Okay fine, even if mistakes are naughty visitors,
we can renew our soul in thousands of poetries,
till clashes of words draw kisses of transcendentalism,
our pen looks like friction,
but they don't know love is a righteous war.
HUMBLE:
A frowning drunker,
a smiling bird, grenades of love,
love could flash amber in lamber
but to me, as seen in Eve-
Love is the globe’s pillar.
Let’s erect love to hold the globe.
AJAKAYE:
Carry me into rose rigidity,
my straight legs are short as what you admire,
your serenade has resurrected my dead heart,
believe me Humble Ridwan,
I am deeply ready to stand in love.
HUMBLE:
Smiling smiles me out,
Ajakaye should we love in words and act,
let my hands caress your thighs,
lips shake thine lips,
should my pestle set forth to pound ?
