EKO NINU EKO(LOGOS IN LAGOS) BY AJAKAYE RASHIDAT STRIDA.

A very accommodating daughter of Nigeria,
serene as you cause her,
her economy never straight as die
for thousands of tribes feed in her kingdom.
In her breathes the sweetest season of tourism,
some roads are smooth and well structured,
other might be rhetorical questions,
am I in Lagos?

There are some diamonds underground Lagos' rug,
some reside in you and feel neglected,
mother, tell the Toll Gate purses
about the murdering gallops of Ijagemo, Badagry road, Isaja...
Pregnant woman become afraid of trading,
the road carves a threat to unborn children.

Life is too expensive and frustratingly noisy,
yet the rich have where they think of thousand projects,
we that think think think
listen to Marlians and the harassments of Oluomo agberos
when we board buses from Igando to Lasu gate,
you dare not take a picture
after being late for a lecture.

I am not a fool,
we are the Lagosian
but of what benefit is her soil to our seeds,
there is a hidden Lagos in Lagos.
Even the Seats of Authority aren't from you mother,
they are Ogun, Ekiti, Ibadan,
leave and lets live,
even most communal properties
named after them,
what else?
When they leave, they shall take them
the Ilu Oke?

When you are coming to town,
please know some are down,
A place of happiness,
only smart men compel happiness.

AJAKAYE RASHIDAT OLAMIDAYO
STRIDA_ Striking Ideas.

The bard laments over the misuse of power in Lagos State and speaks for the need of  fairness and transparency.
