ODE' 'INDEPENDENCE?' BY OMOTAYO, G.P PEN AND ZEPHANIAH.

'BEFORE YOU GO MR. PRESIDENT'

ANOINTED:
Let me address an elder in the way he should be addressed,
if your mouth turns into a knife, it will hurt your lips sir,
a child can play with his mother's breast but not his father's testicles,
I want to play with your testicles, Mr. President,
I believe as a good man, you will allow me and smile,
when the Cock is drunk, he forgets the hawk,
are you now drunk Mr. President that you forget the power of the youth?
Kenya's proverb said, "After a foolish deed comes remorse"
I've never seen you feeling remorseful of your deeds on our dearest country,
a stubborn person sails in a clay boat.

Anyway, just do this before you go, Mr. President,
the one who fetches the water is the one who is likely to break the pot,
when I was young, I was playful and I dirtied my clothes,
my mother will force me to wash until it became clean,
Mr. President, just wash this country before you go,
It has been full of dirt since the time you came,
can you please water the thorn for the sake of the rose?
just do this and we will praise you even if it is not from our heart,
you remain our role model Mr. President,
the best role model to copy if you want to make someone cries,
Happy Independence to you Sir, our dry cleaner in making.
ZEPHNATH:
NIGERIA INDEPENDENCE@61 YEARS!
TEARS IN SIX FEET!!

I'm Scared!

Nigerians are natural flowers,
with beautiful petals,
strong scents and aroma,
that induces the mind to fight trauma,
but I'm afraid and scared of what I see today,
in our six geo- political zone!

We are all equal before God,
I guessed!
we are all his creation,
wonderfully made,
out of dust,
with a soul,
but our leaders celebrate
as we suffered @61 feet years of dependency,
without an iota of empathy to us.

We are some price-tagged?
gifted free and some sold cheaply,
our dignity not respected but suspected,
cutting off our bound buds and nectary.....
O' Nigeria!
Which way?

We need a greenprint,
we don't need fabricated tales,
these tunes must change,
we need new drum beats,
our hearts and souls need a peaceful rest.

Elites!
How many years can a man fight,
before he will be called a warrior?
Masses and multitudes are behind you,
blindfolded and brainwashed,
you are their eyes and mind,
never lead them astray to peril,
we can differ in ideas but unite for peace.

Enough of bullets and bloodshed,
we aren't bullet proofs and shields,
how many liberation should we fight for?
external and internal colonization?
Clean this red ink; let snow cover our hearts.

Our children need a peaceful home,
where birds voices and songs fill the air,
not blasts of bombs and guns,
where they'll walk with no fear of attack,
be our leader and not mis-leaders.

Let there be a light change and freedom!

G.P PEN:
 'INDEPENDENCE'

What can I offer you?
You are 61, you have nothing to boast of,
you bore children and have nothing to take care of them,
you have eyes but do like you don't see,
you have ears but dramatize reluctantly.

Applaud to our fore Fathers'
that fought for the independence,
brought a ladder for us to go high
within a twinkle of an eye.

Everything you possessed is going gradually,
all you laboured for is falling apart,
shine your eyes and remember you are the giant of Africa not derica,
wake up and be classical.

A word is enough for a wise,
stand up and fight for your right our right,
you are invisible and make our request visible,
bring back unity and love; peace and blessings

I wish you success as go for all these above,
I wish you God's intervention as you go,
I pray for you new glory,
I pray for you divine restoration,
these are my prayers for you.

Happy birthday my Nigeria our Nigeria
Hip hip hip hurray!!
