POETRY OF CONSCIOUSNESS: "END SARS-POLICE BRUTALITY" BY CYRA
We just thought of myths
look reality to death
killing being like a routine
ooh poor justice
We thought for perfect ruling
but hence government is on us but not for us
ooh poor Nigeria
why didn't we knew earlier
Screams of agony
wails at dawn mornings
loud cries without tones
ooh Nigerians for whom are we
Thousands are injured
hundreds are now under the tunnel
still brutality is demanding more
we lack the communication channel
ooh poor Nigeria
What can we do?
police with no humanity
treating us in harsh brutality
end SARS is our unity
Our mothers raped in front of us
our sisters beyond human and sexually harassed
Dads and sons killed for no mercy
children running all over
Happy faces appear on the rivers of blood
our own soldiers painting our own black colour red
sufferings chaos all sort of evils
we thought democracy would have worked
but...
democracy vitiated to autocracy
Our own flag weeps
Nigeria itself bleeds
humiliated individuals pleads
my weapon much screeds .
Ooh Nigeria!
for how long will we suffer
our hope is no longer with us
death is no longer a fate.
