ODE: "CHRISTMAS BELLS CHEER" BY SOMDATTA

Growing up with the Christmas cheer,

The bells ring inside my heart to steer.

And the night which is most awaited,

Glorifies the earth as the Lord is born.

The history reopens the nativity scene ,

How the manger shone with a gleam. 

That Mary betrothed Joseph in a jubilation, 

The angel Gabriel appeared to raise her sensation. 

That she will deliver a child who will be the saviour,

And the whole world will redeem from the darkness and evil pretentions. 

Holy night ! Silent night ! they acclaim ! 

In their Christmas carols that rejuvenate.

Santa's amusing character spreads joy and cheerfulness , 

The sledge seems to be embellished with snow as the winter invades. 

The reindeers are conscious of their efforts , 

As they pull the sledges towards the destination. 

With gold , frankinscence and myrrrh the Lord was coronated , 

The three wise men celebrated the birth of Jesus in an approbation.

The divine moment seemed so bright.

The stars aglew with light in a coronation. 

The shepherds and the cattle witnessed the merriment,

A silent night was sensitized in an euphoria.

Celebrations all around the world today enthralls all, 

From garments , food and merrymaking the festival cheers.

Embellishments varies from country to country, 

Languages are many but the jubilations speak of one prayer in a sensitivity. 

Jesus ! Our Lord was born in a manger , 

To encounter the evils and erase the malicious minds as a stranger.

Let all hearts speak of a joyous festivity , 

Let all souls dive into a fun loving supper with their family. 

Christmas bells sensitise this wonderment , 

Christmas carols instills that spirit of unity and peace in an agreement.
