POETRY OF CONSCIOUSNESS: "AGING AND THE REST OF US" BY CHAS IDEHO

Aging respects no one
sooner or later, you'll be it's next victim
someday, that glowing skin,
those robust facial features,
The regal smiles,
The sexy eyes/expression (in women)
Shall all give way to wrinkles.
And no amount of makeovers can hide them
And make you look young all over again.
So, pay more attention
To how much humanity can benefit from your life,
And waste no resources on your body
That shall, inevitably,
Die slowly with aging.

CHAS IDEHO

The poet persona tells the inevitability of getting older and being less attractive than one used to be in young age. He concludes that no matter how man spends on his body, man shall get to the stage of an old and a wrinkled skin or look.
