HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY,- BY PROF. IBIYEMI
On this International Women's Day, the 8th of March, I join the world to wish women, especially those who serve and study in our university, the Lagos State University, a happy women's Day.
Today is set aside to appreciate women in our lives, acknowledge their struggles, contributions and achievements and celebrate their successes. Indeed, this day is special because it recognizes those that make our world a beautiful place to live; those that inspire hope and strength, who defy the odds to build dreams and nations and give life and essence to others.
I salute all our female members of staff who embody the I-Can-Do Spirit. Thank you for being you. Your dedication and commitment to making LASU great is profoundly acknowledged. In spite of the challenges many of you face, you keep challenging us to do more by doing your bits excellently. Going by what we have achieved together with male counterparts, and what we are undoubtedly going to achieve in the months and years ahead, I can't be prouder of being a woman myself.
If there is anyone worth celebrating, it is women. I therefore celebrate your inner strength and courage and the determination to challenge the stereotypes and make the journey of today's young girls into the future one that is worth anticipating.
On behalf of the University Management and the entire university community, I wish you a Happy International Women's Day.
God bless you.
We are LASU, we are great!
