ARE WE NOT BEREAVED?- BY BRIGHT HABEEB
Good Evening.
During the Eid Sermon, the imam said "Are we not bereaved that the Month of Goodness, Month of Amnesty, month within which forgiveness is sold on discount and Qur'an is read the most left us?
I felt these words soberly, I answered the question to myself saying what a mixed feeling that Ramadan went on the day of joy and feast. I repeat the imam's words many times during the day till I almost memorized them.
The month had come to repair and prepare us for the next phase of our lives. We dropped habits we ain't proud of to establish this great pillar of Islam correctly. We improve our connection with the people during the day and liven our nights with the praise and remembrance of the Almighty.
How wasteful would man have been if he turns back to embrace his old person, how myopic are we if we had only paused for the goodness and planned to pause our goodness after the month was sighted, after we advanced out of Ramadan as better people.
Of all things, being steadfast isn't an easy task, it's a lifetime dedication to look odd in this day and age where wolves and serpents look like pearls.
May Allah ease our affairs, distance us from evil and misdeed, and may he accept our worship and write goodness for us here and hereafter.
```TaqobalaLlahu Minna Waminkum. Eid Mubarak!```
