18TH EDITION OF VOICE OF THE MIMBARR: ROLES OF WOMEN IN ISLAM- DR. RAZAQ BOLAWAYE

15-10-1444 AH/05-05-2023 CE.

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful.

The complementary roles of men and women in Islam in relation to the benefit and reward attract plausible arguments among the Scholars of jurisprudence. The holy Quran bears categorical position on the parallel guage of reward between  genders. It proffers that: "For Muslim men ans women, - for believing men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who go in charity, for men and women who fast for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in Allah's remembrance for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great reward." The contention remains that each person is entitled to the proportion of reward accrued from such deeds.

To this end, the noble Messenger (SAW) was noted to have implored the Companions that: 'There ia hardly any day that breaks except for the two Angels to announce, Oh son of Adam, I am a new day who oversees your your deeds, prepare in me for future for I am going to come back until the day of resurrection.'

In the same vein, the Companions were once asked: 'Do you know who is a complete bankrupt? They answered: No. He said: A bankrupt is he whose two days are the same.' This shows that as a serious Muslim, your days should be full of activities.

Women roles in Islam pose some women as model to women of contemporary society. Sayyidat Khadijah, the fortress of the noble Messenger played leading role in giving succor to the latter during the early period of Messenger's mission. Sayyidah Aishah was noted to have recorded the highest number of Hadith. Sayyidah Fatimah was learned and  volunteered to teach others, while Ummu Salmah gave splendid advice to the Messenger which changed the game to obedience on the day of Hudaybiyyah.

This nonetheless, twelve spectacular things form the basis for Islamic Religious training. Children's training according to Scholars of jurisprudence include skills across religious, working skills, health skills, moral skills, defense skills, social skills, economic skills, political skills, knowledge feat, courtesy skills, technical skills and geneological skills. Teaching children your language would enhance continuity of essence.

Women Council of Ansar-Ud-Deen in Lagos State has taken bolder steps in establishing ADSON School which had grown beyond Primary level. The project  of Secondary School is currently in progress, both at the State Council Secretariat, Ahmed Ogunbambi Street, Fagbile Estate, Ijegun.

In the meantime, Orphanage home, Old People's home, Foundations in term of cushioning the travails of  members and non-members alike. To cap it all, Muslim Cemetery takes paramount ad it takes care of sudden and inevitable eventualities that must strike one day. Death of course is the ultimate of all.

Till we meet during the next edition, I remain.
