ROMANCE: "THE SENSATIONAL ROMANCE IN THE RAIN" BY SOMDATTA MITRA
It's plumage was alluring and elegant,
As the charming peacock danced with its fan wide open.
The heavy shower fascinated all the spectators,
The national bird was the centre of attraction like an imitator.
The appealing, bright blue colour seemed so delightful,
As we stood mesmerised; Witnessing its articulate dance in a sensation.
We were drenched in the rain as it impacted our emotions,
Our hands were tightly over each other in a devotion.
The Cupid enthused love and passion ,
Over the signature dance that the attracted eyes in an inspiration.
How scintillating was the rain and rainbow in the clouds !
How divine that moment was when we bowed!
The peacock was engrossed in its skilful dance,
Perhaps it was too much enchanted in a romance.
The heavy shower was interrupted by some lightning and thunder ,
As I could witness the extreme weather in a wonder.
The forest was covered with trees and the weeds ,
The green colour seemed bright in the erosion of rain.
Everywhere the charm of the rain sustained a tranquility ,
As we drove inside the forest in search of divinity.
At one point there was a beautiful waterfall ,
The rain water seemed to collect in a stream;
Which housed so many creatures.
The subtle commotion of the water collecting in the stream ,
Raised a spirit to click pictures in an attempt.
The green leaves and the grasses were rejoicing the season ,
The drops of rain enthused cheer and laughter to receive the sensational impact.

The poet persona lays emphasis on the beauty of the peacock bird, without forgetting the beauties that works of nature give humans and animals, such as: rainfall, thunder and lightening.
