IMOTA STUDENTS' UNION AT 20: BECAUSE I WAS INVOLVED- BY LASISI VICTOR
The mere act of participation became a catalyst for immense transformation, as I immersed myself in the realm of ISU Week 2023, a celebration of the union's 20th anniversary. With unwavering dedication, I devoted myself to the tireless pursuit of excellence, engaging in voluntary services, intellectual contributions, and an experience that forever altered the course of my existence.
As the sun rose on the horizon, casting its warm glow upon a grateful universe, I felt a surge of anticipation coursing through my veins. The air buzzed with excitement, as it echoes the collective energy of every individual in the world. Together, we formed a symphony of passionate souls, each note harmonizing with the next, creating an aura of camaraderie and purpose.
Voluntary services, the cornerstone of our involvement, became a labor of love. With sleeves rolled up, hands on dusty decks and limbs legging a porous journey, we set out to make a difference in the lives of others. From acknowledging the place of God as an aether force by going to the sacred Mosque for Jummat (day 1), giving helping hands to those in need by offering free scholarship to Jamb Aspirants (Day 2), organizing community outreach programs by giving free medical treatment/enlightenment (day 3), commemoration of a large get together of everyone at Youth Educational Symposium/Grand Finale (Day 4) and lastly understanding the place of God as the Last Element that would remain in Nature at the prayer service held in Anglican Church (Day 6); we became the catalysts for positive change.
Every act of service, no matter how small, rippled through the fabric of society, leaving behind a trail of compassion and hope.
But it was not just the physical exertion that defined our involvement. We recognized the power of our minds, our intellectual contributions, as a force to be reckoned with. Experiences of how ideas were forged by noble wordsmiths, where minds collided and ignited sparks of innovation. We shared our knowledge, our expertise, and our unique perspectives, planting seeds of inspiration in fertile minds. The exchange of ideas became a dance, a symphony of intellectual curiosity that pushed the boundaries of what we thought impossible.
In the midst of it all, I found myself immersed in an experience that defied conventional expectations. Happiness shout with her contralto voice through the tyranny of corridors, the joyous sound of connections being made. Tears were shed, not of sadness, but of overwhelming gratitude and awe, angers of credibility, and shouts of joy. We formed bonds that transcended the confines of mere acquaintance, weaving a tapestry of memories that would forever remain etched in the deepest recesses of our hearts.
ISU Week 2023, a milestone so significant, marked a turning point of every involving heads. It was an ignition to the power of involvement, to the transformative potential of collective action. Because I was involved, I discovered the true essence of purpose and fulfillment. I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that a student body, united by a common vision, can have on the world.
In celebration of the union's 20th anniversary, we stood together in beacon of resilience and determination. Our involvement was not merely a fleeting moment in time, but a lifelong commitment to making a difference. Because I was involved, I emerged as a changed individual, armed with the knowledge that small actions, when fueled by passion, dedication and appreciation, can yield monumental statues.
As the echoes of ISU Week 2023 fade into the distance, I carry within me the lessons learned, the memories cherished. Because I was involved, I now understand that true fulfillment lies not in the pursuit of personal gain, but in the selfless act of giving back to the world.
With ISU at 20, a child nurtured from birth to adult unionhood, considering it's rigorous development at infancy defined as the past, to a comprehensive and continuous-growing present to an expectable projected future I celebrate with every human in existence and give respect to heads that was, is and are about to shoulder the loads of the union.
Thank you all for everything.
