JEREMIAD ON ROMANCE: "CAN I CALL YOU?" BY MATYR

Do you remember when I called you
How you declined my call and blocked my number,
You didn't have time for my calls, right
It wasn't worth it, was it?

You said I was disturbing your peace
That I was annoying you with my useless calls
My once beloved, miserable you called me
And done with me you said.

Now you want to call me
To apologize for the mistakes you once denied
You want to call and say you still love me
And you want us back together, right?

Can you call me?
I don't care how you'll take this,
But hey, I'll be real with you,
No! Noo! Please don't call my phone.

Noo, You be hurt but face the truth
Don't call me, I won't answer calls from you
Just text me those your lies
I don't want to hear them anymore.

The poet persona returns the carelessness of a woman towards him. The speaker sometimes ago wishes to call her but she declines. Yet, the voice denies loving this lady because she hurt him while he was in love.
