I done known you seem like damn near my whole life

I remember when I met you,

A lot of thoughts run through my head,

But I paid no heed.

When you said you love me too,

I was happy for you,

Because I thought you had any sense.

Then I pledge to follow you,

Thinking you might take me somewhere,

And I done learned a whole heap of things,

I done learned how to tell where the shit lies.

You showed me how to not make the same mistakes,

To take life as it comes along.

But now, what's happened?

What's changed?

That you now count me amongst them?
