PROFESSOR EGBOWON'S REJOINDER TO AJAKAYE'S "TODAY, I SPOKE TO THEM"
A good name is greater and better than riches
They may call you a fool
They may call you a nonentity
Just because you don't run their fast lane
You may feel discouraged when you view with their lens
Be yourself and be humble
Take instructions from God
He is ready to listen if you care to pray
And ready to speak if you care to listen
Be watchful and careful
Not all who sing your praises mean well for you
Some sing your praises to cause you to puff-off and become arrogant
And what pride sets in
They plot your downfall
Remain calm
Remain humble
Remain focused
God will protect you
And keep you from evil
Hold on to Him
Don't lose your grip
Keep on trusting.

The poet persona says integrity with hardwork pays always. Such that, one has to keep believing in God, possessing imitable character and remaining determined towards one's goals.
